Non-Lethal Weapons Combat Tactics is a course that teaches security personnel, the use of compliance non-deadly weapons: Impact Baton, ASP Basic Handcuff Certification (ABC), OC Aerosol Projector (OCAP) Certification. In other words, officers are using these non-lethal weapons before the use of a firearm or lethal force.
In addition, Non-Lethal Weapons Combat Tactics are used in policing and combat situations to limit the escalation of conflict where employment of lethal force is prohibited or undesirable, where rules of engagement require minimum casualties, or where policy restricts the use of conventional force.
Impact Baton or ASP Tactical Baton
The ASP Basic Certification (ABC) is an 8-hour, hands-on seminar which trains participants in the operational use of the ASP Tactical Baton. Therefore, the program is simple to learn and easy to understand.
In addition, the ASP Basic Certification (ABC) provides also effective defensive impact weapon tactics for law enforcement and private security personnel, as well as responsible civilians without long hours of training. For instance, the techniques are working effectively for all users, male and female, large and small, fit as well as those in less-than-peak physical condition.
The ASP Basic Certification (ABC) program provides portation (carrying) and presentation (drawing) procedures as well as striking techniques. Therefore, these tactics are easy to learn and practice.

1. Expandable baton, scabbard (holder) and duty belt or sturdy belt – Therefore, only expandable tactical batons are permitted in this class. “LeverLoc” and standard expandable batons are both acceptable. Scabbards (holders) must be in a secure way on a rigid clothing belt or duty-style belt.
Scabbards of the molded plastic or soft varieties are both acceptable. Therefore, we recommend police officers and private security personnel bring and wear their entire duty belts to assist in creating a more realistic training scenario. (DO NOT BRING FIREARMS INTO THE CLASSROOM OR TRAINING ROOM!))

In addition, the ASP Basic Handcuff Certification (ABC) techniques work effectively for all users, male and female, large and small, fit as well as those in less-than-peak physical condition. OC Aerosol Projector (OCAP) Certification
This four (4) hour end-user level certification program focuses on the deployment, handling, and documentation of the use of OC (oleoresin capsicum) chemical aerosols. Therefore, the OC Aerosol Projector (OCAP) will train the police officer or private security officer in the use of aerosols tactics and will help protect both the officer as well. In addition, it will protect their agency from costly litigation issues that could arise from the use of OC aerosol projectors.
For instance, the OCAP addresses proper deployment techniques, situational requirements, and situational appropriateness. Therefore, it addresses defensive and retention contamination drills, decontamination, proper use-of-force reporting, and operational guidelines.
Course Completion
Students will receive a certificate of completion and certification which is valid for the period of time until such time as departmental policy requires a re-certification.

2. Change of clothes and a towel. Students who wear contact lenses STRONGLY need to bring a fresh pair of contact lenses OR a lens case, saline solution, and backup eyeglasses.
Contamination Requirements:
All students must complete the contamination and retention drills EXCEPT for the following:
Re-certification students who can document previous contamination by an appropriately-certified instructor.
