HDPE Plate Level III

HDPE Plate Level III

HDPE Plate Level III (3) or Polyethylene plates is in conjunction with Body Armor level III-A is a ceramic trauma plate that the United States Armed Forces are currently using. Therefore, our Marom Dolphin’s vest itself stops projectiles up to 44 magnums, including 9×19mm Parabellum submachine gun rounds. In addition to fragmentation, HDPE Plate Level III (3) is necessary to protect against higher-velocity rifle rounds,

HDPE Plate Level III offers excellent impact resistance, lightweight, low moisture absorption, and high tensile strength. It is actually a very popular engineering plastic and is sometimes confused with other similar materials. HDPE Plate Level III comes in several different grades which delineate the purposes that its best suited for. This order comes with one or two plates.

Technical details:

    • Ballistic material: HDPE (Polyethylene thermoplastic made from petroleum).
    • The protection level is III according to NIJ interim requirements.

Ballistic levels:

Bulletproof vests are trapping and slow bullets down as they attempt to pass through the vest. Therefore, the Bulletproof Vests come in two different types; hard and soft.  In addition, the ‘soft’ armors protect against most handgun and small arms ammunition, whereas ‘hard’ armors are stopping high caliber and armor-piercing rounds.

Dimensions:

    • Size: 300×250 mm ± 5. = 10X12 inch
    • Thickness: 20mm ± 2. = 1 inch
    • Weight: ±1450 gr. =  3 pounds and 3.15 ounces

About HDPE:

HDPE is known for its large strength-to-density ratio.  Therefore, the density of HDPE can range from 0.93 to 0.97 g/cm3 or 970 kg/m3. Although the density of HDPE is only marginally higher than that of low-density polyethylene, HDPE has little branching. Therefore, giving it stronger intermolecular forces and tensile strength than LDPE. For instance, the difference in strength exceeds the difference in density, giving HDPE a higher specific strength. It is also harder and more opaque and can withstand somewhat higher temperatures (120 °C/ 248 °F for short periods). in conclusion, High-density polyethylene, unlike polypropylene, cannot withstand normally required autoclaving conditions.
